Autobots assemble for a star-studded animated origin story.

Paramount Pictures is delving into the roots of the Transformers saga with Transformers One, the first fully CG-animated movie in the franchise's history. This prequel film explores the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, revealing a time when they were not enemies but bonded like brothers, ultimately setting them on a path that would shape the fate of Cybertron forever.

The star-studded voice cast for Transformers One includes some of Hollywood's biggest names, with Chris Hemsworth voicing a young Optimus Prime and Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron. Joining them are Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm, adding considerable star power to the film's cast. The film is directed by Josh Cooley, known for his work on Toy Story 4, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, a significant endorsement for the movie's potential success.

Transformers One is a return to the animated origins of the Transformers franchise, which first captivated audiences with its 1986 animated movie. While the series gained immense popularity with Michael Bay's live-action films, starting with 2007's Transformers, the new animated film aims to offer a fresh perspective on the classic characters and their epic rivalry. The live-action series grossed billions at the box office, with the most recent entry, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, earning $439 million globally. With Transformers One, Paramount is providing a new take on the beloved franchise while delving deeper into the rich lore of Cybertron and its most iconic characters.

The newly released trailer has generated excitement among fans, promising stunning animation and a compelling storyline that explores the origins of the Autobots and Decepticons. As anticipation builds, Transformers One has the potential to become a significant addition to the Transformers universe, appealing to both long-time fans and newcomers alike.

Transformers One will roll out in cinemas on September 12.
