Get a Sneak Peek Of The Stunning Barbie Dreamhouse With Margot Robbie.
Architectural Digest recently revealed an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour, led by the iconic Margot Robbie, of the enchanting and vividly pink Barbie Dreamhouse, and it has amped up the Barbie fever to the max.
When tasked with bringing these beloved childhood toys to life on the silver screen, Greta Gerwig sought the expertise of production designer Sarah Greenwood and set decorator Katie Spencer. Drawing inspiration from the mid-century modernism of Palm Springs, they have masterfully crafted a whimsical fantasy in vibrant fuchsia, where slides replace stairs and walls are pretty much non-existent. The remarkable set is designed to ignite a delightful wave of playful nostalgia, capturing the essence of what makes Dreamhouses so outrageously fun, as Greta explains, "I wanted to capture the pure joy that the Dreamhouses embody."
The transparency of the house allows all the Barbies to see each other and exchange morning greetings. Just like in a real Dreamhouse, there are minimal walls dividing the rooms and none for the exterior of the house. Barbie starts her day by gracefully floating down from her bedroom to her car. This creative choice stems from Greta's observation: "Nobody actually walks their Barbie down the steps to get into the car. You simply transition them from one element to the next with a playful plop."
This fun and magical tour of the Barbie Dreamhouse has heightened anticipation to unprecedented levels. Barbie hits the big screen on July 20th, promising to deliver one of the biggest cultural moments of the year where audiences can immerse themselves in the magic of Barbie.
