I Wanna Dance With Somebody’s New Emotional Trailer

Sony Pictures have recently released a brand-new emotional trailer for Whitney Houston’s upcoming biopic, I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

A body-tingling moment is illuminated in the trailer as ‘I Will Always Love You’, one of Houston’s greatest hits begins, and a voiceover says, “music is not a colour and has no boundaries.” Moments earlier, Houston, played by Naomi Ackie, had been criticised by a record label for her music not being “black enough.”

Many fans have been expressing support towards the choice of Naomi Ackie, raving about the similarities between her voice and Houston’s, along with how incredibly well she has managed to channel and embody characteristics of the star.

It is clear that all the hard work Ackie has put in to playing Houston justice has paid off. “I'm going to try my best because that woman -- it sends shivers down my spine how much she means to me, the world, Black women, African American women. I'm going to throw my everything into making sure she is represented properly,” said Ackie.

I Wanna Dance With Somebody hits the big screen on December 26.
