Joker was a phenomenal success upon release in 2019, positioning itself as the 2nd biggest MA15+ film ever. Widely praised for its unique, gritty take on the origin story of one of the most iconic superhero villains, Deadline listed the film as one the 21 Most Influential Films of the 21st century. Entering award season, Joker received a whopping 11 Academy Award nominations and secured 2 wins for Best Original Score and Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix’s performance as Arthur Fleck.

Joker also became the first R-rated film in history to gross over $1 billion at the global box office.
