Dun dun dun dun dun dun MORTAL KOMBAT!

Adapted from the bestselling Mortal Kombat video game franchise, the Mortal Kombat movie will arrive in theatres on April 15th, 2021. The film has a huge cast line-up with Mehcad Brooks as Jax Briggs, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Josh Lawson as Kano, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Max Huang as Lung Lao Max, and Lewis Tan as an all-new character named Cole Young.

This film is a reboot of the franchise and will see Cole Young, a "washed-up MMA fighter" bearing a birthmark in the shape of the Mortal Kombat symbol on his chest, meet up with special forces solider Sonya Blade. Sonya leads Cole to the temple of Lord Raiden where he joins a group of highly skilled fighters.

Filming began in South Australia in 2019 and is produced by James Wan of the Saw Franchise fame. To get an idea of how big this film is going to be, Mortal Kombat is the biggest budgeted motion picture to ever film in Adelaide and South Australia.

There will also be some "crazy fatalities" in the film that will make fans of the franchise very happy, with lead Lewis Tan saying 'There were some days on set that I felt sick'. The trailer has also broken records, with combined views clocking over 116 million in its first week alone!
