What’s Been Revealed About Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

The first trailer for Marvel Cinematic Universe's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever pits Atlantis against the world.

Following the Oscar-winning original film, Black Panther, which was released in 2018, the second instalment of the franchise is arguably one of, if not the most, anticipated film for the rest of the year. In just over a week since the teaser’s release, it has spectacularly garnered over 32 million views.

The motion picture has been long in the works, as the creative team not only needed time to develop and advance the epic story from the original film, but they also faced the challenge of figuring out how to move forward following the tragic passing of original star, Chadwick Boseman, who played T’Challa, the Wakandan King.

It has been revealed in the trailer that the film will directly address the tremendous loss of Chadwick Boseman by honouring the legacy of beloved hero Wakandan King, T’Challa.

Marvel kept their cards very close to their chest for a long time, with very limited plot details having been revealed, but following the first trailer which was released at San Diego’s 2022 Comic-Con, a lot was unveiled.

The clip focused on T’Challa’s family, sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) and mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett) as they mourned his death, whilst gathering warriors and leaders to protect their nation from forces that threatened to invade.

The trailer doesn’t directly address what happened to T’Challa, but his absence along with the discovery of Atlantis, the underwater nation, has Wakandans left feeling tense.

In the trailer, a new group amphibian humanoids, one with winged feet were also highlighted.

The conflict with Atlantis was also revealed, with MCU’s Namor, Tenoch Huerta finally emerging.

New additions to the cast include Dominique Thore as Riri Williams, and Michaela Coel as the Dora Milaje leader Aneka.

As announced by MMA Fighting, it has also been confirmed that UFC Champion Kamaru Usman is to be a part of the cast, taking on a guest role, however it remains a Marvel secret what this role will entail.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit the big screen on November 10. For more information on the film, click here.
